A BILL

To

Establish a corporation for the construction and

operation of a mass transit railway in Hong Kong,

to assume the functions, assets and liabilities

of the Mass Transit Railway Provisional Authority

and for connected purposes.

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the

advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.

Short title and

commencement.

PART I

PRELIMINARY

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Mass

Transit Railway Corporation Ordinance 1975 and shall

come into operation on a day to be appointed by the

Governor by notice in the Gazette.

2. (1) In this Ordinance, unless the context

otherwise requires

"Board" means the Board provided for by section 4(1);

"Chairman" means the Chairman of the Board;

"Corporation" means the Mass Transit Railway Corporation

established by section 3(1);
