of which resulted in the seizure of 445.5 grammes of a mixture containing 133.8 grammes of salts of esters of morphine, together with various items of equipment normally used in the packaging and sealing of No. 3 heroin. WONG was charged with Possession of Dangerous Drugs For The Purpose of Unlawful Trafficking and sentenced to 4 years' imprisonment.

42. On 19th June 1975, following a period of surveillance, officers of the Preventive Service raided an unnumbered hut near Tung Tau Estate, Kowloon Walled City. Inside the hut, 2,326 packets comprising 1.4524 kilogrammes of a mixture containing 635.7 grammes of salts of esters of morphine, and 100 packets containing 18.2 grammes of barbitone were discovered. A Chinese man LAM Siu-wah (2651/1421/5478) was arrested inside the hut and charged with Possession of Dangerous Drugs For The Purpose of Unlawful Trafficking. The case is still pending.
43. A search in the vicinity of the hut revealed a further 500 packets containing 325.4 grammes of a mixture containing 141.1 grammes of salts of esters of morphine. No one was arrested in
connection with the seizure.
Cannabis and its Derivatives

44. On 6th March 1975, acting on information, officers of the Narcotics Bureau raided a flat in the International Guest House, Chung King Mansions, Tsim Sha Tsui. An American Negro Franklin Dellarow WIMBISH was found in the premises, a search of which revealed 438.1 grammes of cannabis concealed in the false bottoms of two travelling bags. WIMBISH was charged with Possession of Dangerous Drugs For The Purpose of Unlawful Trafficking. He pleaded guilty and was fined HK$1,000.
45. The cannabis seized was of the type known as 'Buddha Grass', and orginated from Bangkok; apparently it was not intended for sale in Hong Kong.
46. In a follow-up raid a few hours later, officers of the Narcotics Bureau raided another flat in Chung King Mansion, resulting in the arrest of a second American Negro and the seizure of 1.6 grammes of cannabis and 15.1 grammes of a mixture containing 14.8 grammes of salts of esters of morphine. Clyde Artist LINDSEY was charged with Possession of Dangerous Drugs For The Purpose of Unlawful Trafficking. He pleaded guilty and was fined HK$1,000.

47. On 6th March 1975, officers of the Preventive Service forced open two unclaimed suitcases at Kai Tak Airport, and discovered 21.3 kilogrammes of cannabis. The suitcases had arrived from Bangkok on 30th August 1974, and were bound for Vancouver. No one was arrested in connection with the seizure.

48. On 27th April 1975, officers of the Preventive Service examined a rucksack belonging to Japanese male Ichiro TANAKA on his arrival from Bangkok. Concealed inside a metal Buddha, 100 grammes of cannabis resin and 3.3 grammes of cannabis were discovered, TANAKA was charged with Possession of Dangerous Drugs For The Purpose of Unlawful Trafficking and was fined HK$1,500.

49. On 10th May 1975, a Cathay Pacific Airline traffic officer presented two unclaimed suitcases to Preventive Service officers for examination. When the cases were opened they were found to contain 493 bundles of cannabis weighing 19.31 kilogrammes. On 11th May information was received to the effect that an American male Henry Rapolla KuMMINGA had requested that the suitcases be re-labelled and sent to Guam. KUMMINGA was arrested and charged with Possession of Dangerous Drugs For The Purpose of Unlawful Trafficking. He was fined HK$150,000 or 3 months' imprisonment in default of payment.
