32. On 27th June 1975 a cargo of five unclaimed tins of dried pork which had arrived by air from Bangkok were presented by airline staff to officers of the Preventive Service for examination. The examination revealed five polythene bags containing No. 4 Heroin concealed amongst the pork. The precise amount of the seizure comprised 1.767 kilogrammes of a mixture containing 1.726 kilogrammes of salts of esters of morphine. No one was arrested in connection with the seizure.
33. This was the largest seizure of No. 4 Heroin to have been made in Hong Kong for two years. (PS/109/42/75)
34. On 28th June 1975, officers of the Preventive Service examined 4 tins of dried pork belonging to Thai male VICHAE SAE ENG on his arrival by air from Bangkok. The examination revealed 5.9489 kilogrammes of raw opium concealed inside the tins. VICHAE was charged with Possession of Dan- gerous Drugs For The Purpose of Unlawful Trafficking. The case is pending.

35. On 23rd January 1975, following a period of surveillance, officers of the Preventive Service seized 10 '999' brand morphine blocks from the boot of a private car in the Kowloon Walled City. Three Chinese males Au Wah (2962/5478), Au Wing-fung (2962/2837/6265), and MA Chi-tang (7456/2388/1656) were arrested and charged with Possession of Dangerous Drugs For The Purpose of Unlawful Trafficking. The seizure comprised 13.74 kilogrammes of a mixture containing 12.59 kilogrammes of a salt of morphine. The case is pending.
36. Following this seizure, a search was conducted at four premises inside the Walled City and at a factory building in San Po Kong, resulting in the seizure of 13,151 packets containing 4.4022 kilogrammes of a mixture containing 1.7231 kilogrammes of salts of esters of morphine, and 242.4 grammes of a mixture containing 78.1 grammes of barbitone. No one was arrested in connection with these seizures.

37. On 27th February 1975, acting on information, officers of the Preventive Service raided a heroin daily supply store at a cockloft of an unnumbered hut in the Kowloon Walled City. A search revealed 1,726 packets containing 724 grammes of a mixture containing 271.5 grammes of salts of esters of morphine, and 53 packets containing 12.8 grammes of a mixture containing 0.8 grammes of barbitone. No one was arrested in connection with the seizure.

38. In the evening of 8th March 1975, following a period of surveillance, officers of the Narcotics Bureau raided a residential flat in Mei Fu Sun Chuen. A search of the premises revealed 12.654 kilogrammes of a mixture containing 4.34 kilogrammes of salts of esters of morphine packed in nine plastic bags. A Chinese male TAM Chun-ming (6223/0193/2494), found in the premises, was arrested and charged with Possession of Dangerous Drugs For The Purpose of Unlawful Trafficking and sentenced to 5 years' imprisonment.
39. There were indications that this heroin, which had been very recently manufactured, have been intended for export to Europe.

40. On 17th March 1975, following an extended period of surveillance, officers of the Narcotics Bureau carried out a series of raids in Hong Kong Island and Kowloon against heroin storage and dis- tribution centres. In the first raid at a wooden hut in Canton Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, a Chinese female Sze-to lui (0674/1778/1166) was arrested in possession of 4.6797 kilogrammes of a mixture containing 1.6469 kilogrammes of salts of esters of morphine. She was charged with Possession of Dangerous Drugs For The Purpose of Unlawful Trafficking and sentenced to 4 years' imprisonment.
41. On 13th May 1975, officers of the Narcotics Bureau arrested Chinese male WONG Ming- chung (7806/2494/5115) as he was carrying a jerrycan containing 20.62 litres of acetic anhydride in Sai Wan Ho Street, Shau Kei Wan. WONG was escorted to his flat in Sai Wan Ho Street, a search
