Sir Watson

CALL ON SIR D WATSON BY HONG KONG NARCOTICS OFFICIALS

1.

Mr Male has arranged for three Hong Kong narcotics officials to pay a courtesy call on you at 11.15 a.m. tomorrow, 25 June. The three officials, Mr E I Lee, Commissioner for Narcotics, Mr H J Rumbelow, Head of the Narcotics Bureau, and Mr P Law, an Assistant Commissioner of Police, seconded to the British Embassy in Bangkok as a liaison officer, have been attending a meeting in London with US and UK Law Enforcement Agencies to discuss drug trafficking in the Far East.

2.

I attach brief job descriptions of the officials and a background note on recent developments in the narcotics field in Hong Kong. In Mr O'Keeffe's absence on sick leave, I have arranged for Mr Dinwiddy and Mr Wotton to be present during the call.
