What has report. There has probably been a confusion of names. happened is that one of Lo Hsing Han's associates by the name of Rikun Hsa was released in September 1974 after a considerable stay in detention. You may remember that the motive for the kidnapping at Taunggyi of the two Russian aid officers in April 1973 was thought to have been the wish to obtain a bargaining counter for the release of Hkun Hsa. He is now in Rangoon living in the house of a member of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and said to be making all too freely statements which compromise senior people here.

2. As for Lo Hsing Han, I attach a newspaper cutting of 25 January

The reporting a further hearing in this long drawn-out trial. hearings have thrown up some interesting evidence of the dealings of Burma Army officers with Lo Hsing Han's local militia, the Kwa Kwe Ye. The defence counsel's plea that a Rangoon court had no jurisdiction over offences alleged to have been committed in another part of Burma was eventually over-ruled in the second part of last year. One of the items of information subsequently published was that the Government had seized gold bars and opium belonging to Lo Hsing Han to a value of approximately 415,000.
