April 1975

Dear Mr Lee

Thank you for your letter of 1 April introducing yourself as Norman Rolph's successor. I had already learnt of your appoint-

ment from a Press Release.

I have taken note of your view that there would be considerable advantage in holding the planned UK/US/Hong Kong meeting in London this year and of the date which would be convenient to you. I have today passed on your views to John Bartels at the Drug Enforcement Administration (from whom I have not yet heard any response to my letter of 7 March). We shall see where this takes

us.

I very much look forward to meeting you and hope that we shall be able to work in as co-operative, useful and friendly a fashion as Norman and I have been able to hitherto.

Yours sincerely

Christopher Train
