2. I attach a copy of Fir Taylor's letter to Mr O'Keeffe dated 12 August and I would be grateful if you would take up the question of security clearance with Box 500 as soon as possible. I had previously thought that there were 71 Vietnamese refugees in Hong Kong seeking to enter this country; but Mr Hunter (Box 500), who at present does not have a copy of Hong Kong telegram No. 521 of 26 May, told me that he did have a later telegram referring to 4 additional applicants (I presume this would make a total of 75).
