Mr Drace-Francis mentioned that the same morning he had suggested to the UNHCR that since the plane being used for the French flights from Saigon to Bangkok had broken down, they might be willing to lend the Air Lao Caravelle being used on the Hong Kong/Saigon run to the French, since it would be of more use taking people out of Saigon, including some Hong Kong belongers (who were also beginning to trickle through by that route) than coming empty again to Hong Kong.
