As transportation work was tiring, the Prisoner used to return home after work with his elder brother to rest. His favourite pastime was reading magazines, and watching television. On Sunday or public holiday he might go to cinema or take his younger brothers along to tea. His habits were therefore normal..

3. Elder married sister, MA Hou-chu

The Prisoner was the uncommunicative type. He seldom talked with the family or shared their jokes. She suspected that this was because he had inferiority feelings about the permanent white pigments on his skin which were resulted by scratch in childhood. The Prisoner used to wear long-sleeve and high-collar clothes to cover up these spots, and the wearing of long hair was also said to be attributed to this. The sister felt that the Prisoner had no obvious undesirable habits and the parents were neither permissive nor authoritarian with him. They had only occasionally asked him not to be. late at home or associate with undesirable people.

4. Elder brother, MA Chung-ming

The Prisoner had worked regularly with him since about two years before arrest and had no undesirable habits. He was given $10-$30 a week as pocket money depending on the volume of business they made, and the rest was given directly by the elder brother to their mother. The Prisoner and he had been acquainted for two years before the Prisoner' s arrest. The Prisoner was found to be a quiet person. He enjoyed going to Lai Yuen Amusement Park, cinema and tea with him. During their acquaintanceship, the Prisoner was known to have worked for varicus waxing companies and about four to five months before arrest, he had changed to work for his elder brother and did not appear to be satisfied with it. He seemed to consider working with his elder brother a strained experience, but gave

no reasons.

The Prisoner and he had been co-workers for about two years at Man Kee Waxing Company. The Prisoner worked intermittently. He had been a naive person when he first came to work but after he had left for a period and returned, his attitude was said to have changed. He became bolder in appearance and talk and was more sophisticated. He talked of going to parties, which this friend had advised against because these were frequently places for breeding troubles., He was also advised to keep good company. However, after he had left the second time, they had seldom seen each other.
