dispersed and others got into a red car which they had seized at gun
point. The car was driven down Tonkin Street, and turned into
Cheung Sha Wan Road.
The police party returned to the damaged car at the scene of
the collision and $5,490 was recovered in it.

Meanwhile, another police car was driving along Cheung Sha Wan
It was under the command of Sergeant 790, and P.C. 9611 was the
driver. The owner of the red car stopped it, and as a result of a
conversation Sergeant 790 and his party gave chase. The red car was
forced by pedestrians and traffic generally to stop near the junction
of Fuk Wing Street and Pei Ho Street and the occupants abandoned it.
Some of them, according to P.C. 9611, turned into Pei Ho Street
and ran towards Taipo Road. The police car pulled in behind the red
car and the police party descended. The Sergeant, P.C. 9611 and P.C. 2752,
all in uniform, gave chase.
P.C. 9611 told the Court he selected one person and chased
him. He identified No.1 above as that person.The Sergeant ran with him
along the middle of the road and No.1 ran on the footpath to the left,
but ahead. P.C. 9611 said that at shop No. 185 the 1st accused drew
a revolver from his waist, aimed at him and fired a number of shots.
There was a Light Bus parked to the left of the P.C. and the Sergeant.
The P.C. took cover near the driver's door, and at the same time called
on the Sergeant to take cover. He then went to the rear of the bus, drew
his revolver and from there went to the footpath and took cover behind a
column. He then proceeded towards Taipo Road using columns for cover
but did not see No.1 again. Along the way he met P.C. 2752 coming back
and they both returned to the Light Bus where they found the fatally
injured Sergeant being helped by some colleagues.
