Near Pater,

I enclose a factual reply to the petition which Mr Pun Ting Chau of Flat 1022, Bell House, Block A, 525-543 Nathan Road, Kowloon, Hong Kong, forwarded to you.

A body consisting of prominent members of the community and senior government officials and known as the Operations Target Committee considered a report on the investigations into Ar Pun's complaints on 30 October 1975. The Committee considered hr Pun's allegations and have advised that the possibility of prosecuting Ar Pun for criminal libel should be considered by the Hong Kong Attorney-General. lo decision has yet been taken on this latter point.

Needless to say I should not like this information to be passed on to Er Pun at present while the matter is under consideration of the Attorney-General in lang hong.
