PARLIAMENTARY QUESTION: MR JAMES JOHNSON MP
Jakk1411
1. Mr James Johnson (Kingston upon Hull, West) has put down a question for oral answer on 6 August, to ask the Secretary of State if he is satisfied with the results achieved to date by the Independent Commission Against Corruption in Hong Kong.
2. Mr Victor Goodhew has a question for oral answer down for the same day which may be reached (my submission of 31 July). The Parliamentary Unit have told the Department that Mr Johnson's question will not be reached and Notes for Supplementaries and a Background Note are not therefore required. (Mr Johnson presumably may seek to put a Supplementary to Mr Goodhew's Question if it is reached.)
3. Mr Johnson takes a close and critical interest in Hong Kong affairs and frequently asks questions in the House. He has put down a further five questions for written answer on 6 August. He last visited the Colony in April 1974.
4. I submit a draft reply.
