Amongst the photographs one was included of a

the only person believed to have been employed at the station about that time with a given name of Lam (marked as No. 10).

A reply from Mr Ellis was forwarded, in which he identified photograph No. 16 (Mr WONG Kam- ming). Mr Ellis further suggested that Mr J G Hurst, S.P., may be able to assist, as they shared quarters at Hung Hom Police Station during the relevant period.

Mr J G Hurst was interviewed and asked to view the identical photographs sent to Ellis and identify any of them he knew or recalled as being at Hung Hom during the period in question. Photographs listed as Nos. 1

and 17, (Mr LUNG Chan) were selected as being familiar; he could not, however, recall if the ones referred to were actually at Hung Hom in 1962.

All the civilian staff members identified by Messrs. Ellis and Hurst plus Mr WAN Wing-lam were interviewed.

(1) No. 1, LEE Kam-bor left Hung Hom Police Station in April, 1962 on his marriage, returning there in 1968/69;

(2) No. 7, TANG Kwong was not employed at Hung

Hom until June, 1963;

(3) No. 10, WAN Wing-lam was employed at Hung

Hom from June, 1957 to August 1962, and then was known to be at sea for period of ten years. He was re-employed at Hung Hom from December, 1972 to date.

was employed at Hung Hom from April, 1957 to May, 1962, returning to Hung Hom in July, 1963. Between May, 1962 and July, 1963 WONG was employed at the Police Training School; this has been confirmed from his service postings record;

employed at Hung Hom since August 1959. denies knowing an Inspector named Ellis or having entered the quarters occupied by Messrs Ellis and Hurst.
