Ennals

My constituent, Mrs. Godber, of Iden Lock, Rye, telephoned me today about her husband, Peter Godber, who is serving a prison sentence for offences in Hong Kong. Mrs. Godber would like to know if there is any way in which her husband can be given permission to write more than the two letters a month which he is permitted at present. I understand that he applied to write a third privilege letter but was refused.

Mrs. Godber would also like to know if there is any chance of her husband being transferred to a prison in England. It is quite impossible for her to go to Hong Kong and in any event she would only be allowed to visit her husband once a month.

Would you be good enough to let me have a reply which I can forward to Mrs. Godber?
