1. Fir Victor Goodhew (Conservative, St Albans) has put down two Questions for written answer on 6 August, to ank the Secretary of State:

(i) If he will encourage the Government

of Hong Kong to consider legalising the less harmful types of gambling in order

to contribute towards the removal of corruption.

(ii) What steps are being taken to secure the

co-operation of the public in the work of the Independent Commission Against Corruption in Hong Kong; and with what result.

Mr Goodhew has also put down an oral Question for answer on 6 August about the Independent Commission Again:4; Corruption in Hong Kong. A draft reply to this question be been submitted separately.
