point which seems most likely to come up again, namely that Farliament was kept in the dark about the establishment of
the British Indian Ocean Territory and the consequences flowing
from it. The Leader of the House of Commons told the House on
16 October that Ministers saw no need for a statement on Diego
Gurcia. He added that the matter could be raised in the
pending Foreign Affairs Debute.

It is also possible that particular points may be raised
about the circumstances concerning the removal of the contract
workers and their subsequent treatment. I cannot think of any other points beyond those already raised in some 40 Parliamentary
Questions in recent weeks, including the 32 which Mr Ennals
himself has answered. I attach the relevant extracts from
Hansard.
