This Question is no doubt an attempt to follow-up earlier Questions (Mr Thomas' of 8 May and Mr Trotter's of 14 April) about the future size of the garrison, it's cost and the future Hong Kong contribution. It would however be clearly inappropriate at this stage of negotiation to give any details on these points, and the proposed Answer therefore follows the established line of reply.
