STATEMENT ON THE DEFENCE ESTIMATES 1975

I attach for your information a copy of the text of the 1975 Defence White Paper as approved by the Secretary of State for circulation to the Defence and Oversea Policy Committee and the Cabinet. The OPD is expected to take the paper on Wednesday 19 February. Cabinet consideration of the text will begin during the following week.

2. The intention is to publish the Defence White Paper on Wednesday 19 March.
