1. The extent of the cuts in 120 which can be extracted from the tables shoring the present and the proposed manpower figures for all three Services (500), is a preliminary figure only and the savings may be greater.

2. So as to avoid large scale redundancy, delays on the filling of vacancies, as they naturally occur, have been imposed and, at the same time, applications for continuance beyond normal retirement age are being considered sympathetically.
