As arranged at our meeting on 13 January I now enclose:

(a) an amended version of our report, and

(b) a first draft of a possible paper for the DOPC.

Deliberately I have left the amendments to our report in manuscript so that the changes will be immediately obvious to the reader. A revised version of the budgetary passage has been sent to us all by Mr. Hansford.

Our next meeting has been arranged for 10 a.m. on Friday, 17 January, and will take place in the ante-room to the Defence Council Suite on the 8th floor of the MOD Main Building. The easiest approach is through the Richmond Terrace end of the building, by lift to the 8th floor.

I suggest that there are four main points we should cover at our meeting: -

(a) agreeing a final version of our report;

b) deciding how the report should be handled;

(c) taking any first comments on the draft DOPC paper

and arranging for further comments to be fed in;

(a) deciding on the procedure for further handling of the

draft DOPC paper.
