RECRUITMENT
The Hong Kong Polytechnic
Recruitment for the Hong Kong Polytechnic was discussed
with Dr Legg and his senior colleagues.
Dr Legg
apologized on behalf of the Polytechnic for the
breakdown in the established procedures during the
last few months. This was due to a number of factors
including (a) urgent action to interview prospective
candidates for head of department posts because of
the long periods for which some acting heads had
been taking responsibility (b) the concentration of
staff on formulating the academic development plan
(c) changes in staff.
It was affirmed that the agreed procedure would be
followed in future, the following comments being made
by the Polytechnic in the light of experience:

background information
would include depart-
mental notes and notes
on Hong Kong.
Processing of applications- The Polytechnic is
reviewing its applica-
tion form in the light
of the TETOC form.
Interviews The Polytechnic is considering the
