This applies particularly
to candidates for posts in the Lecturer grade, at which
the salary scale is already thought to be too low.
(2) In certain scarcity categories, notably textiles, for which
recent advertisements have not even attracted any enquiries,
TETOC should investigate the possibility of advertising in
the professional press inviting applications from candidates
who do not necessarily have teaching experience: the
Polytechnic will make special arrangements for introducing
them to teaching.
(3) TETOC will, when vacancies need to be filled urgently, be
prepared to advertise on receipt of a telegram provided the
vacancy is, for practical purposes, the same as one for which
a job description has previously been provided.
(4) TETOC will send the Polytechnic two copies of the relevant
section of the Monthly Progress Report. The Polytechnic will
return one of these with the necessary additions, deletions
and amendments so as to keep TETOC records up-to-date.
(5) With the same purpose in view, the Polytechnic will send
TETOC copies of regret letters to unsuccessful candidates.
(6) The Polytechnic will provide basic job descriptions on
the lines of a pro forma suggested by TETOC in addition
to the Departmental Notes at present issued.
(7) The Polytechnic will consider the possibility of a new
CV pro forma based on that already used by TETOC ( a specimen
of which I gave the Recruitment Officer) and eliminating
