Honourable Members are invited to note that this will have the effect of modifying the provisional planning target of 8,000 full time equivalent places by 1978 to 6, 000 places, and of postponing the realisation of the 8,000 target to 1980 unless additional funds should become available to allow for an enhanced rate of expansion.

Honourable Members are invited to note that the UFGC has particularly stressed that the Committee's recommendations (Annexes B and C) should be treated as strictly confidential to the Government, and that they should not be communicated to the Hong Kong Polytechnic.
