Secretary of State's Meeting with TUC

International Committee

1716

The following subjects will be raised by the TUC when they see the Secretary of State on Thursday 19 June at 1600:

Portugal Chile

Rhodesia

The EEC after the Referendum

Mr Callaghan will probably begin the meeting with a general survey of foreign affairs (this is being prepared by Mr McNally) and then he may, if there is time, talk about the Middle East situation, Cyprus and Hong Kong.

May we please have speaking notes on these subjects, set out in short paragraphs, for Mr Callaghan to use when he meets the Committee. It would be helpful if they could reach the Private Office by lunchtime tomorrow, Wednesday.
