YOUR SAVING TELEGRAM NO 201 OF 15 SEPTEMBER 1975
INTERNATIONAL LABOUR CONVENTION NO 14, WEEKLY REST (INDUSTRY) CONVENTION 1921
1.
With regard to the proposed re-wording of the modification to be entered under Article 2(i), the reference to the Holidays Ordinance, Cap. 149, appears to be irrelevant since the Convention is concerned with industrial workers only. In this connection attention is invited to Article 1, paragraph 1 of Convention No 14 from which it will be noted that for the purposes of the Convention, "industrial undertaking" is defined as in the Hong Kong Factories and Industrial Undertakings Ordinance, Cap. 59.
2.
In the circumstances, it is suggested that wording proposed in our saving telegram No 175 of 6 August, 1975, should be adopted. Grateful to know whether you concur.
