there could be a number of approaches to orient the planners on the developmental and operational aspects of social security. The theme of social security and national development might be appropriately featured in the curricula for education and training of economists and social scientists at the national and regional levels;

there could also be a variety of methods to promote the discussion of the theme of social security and national development in the workers' education and management training programme attempted at the national and regional levels;

a number of steps could be taken by the social security institutions to improve their statistical systems So that the data generated by the schemes could be improved and rendered usable for development planning purposes; they could also devote attention to the development of indicators relating to the social security sector;

the development of a specialised cadre for administration of social security programmes has the advantage of providing continuity and impetus for undertaking effective planning of the sector along with other social sectors.
