Sir Murray MacLehose will be calling on the Secretary of State at 9.45 a.m. tomorrow. The Governor last called on the Secretary of State on 11 April: I attach a copy of the record of that meeting. The following topics might be covered tomorrow.

ILO Conventions

The Governor will be able to report some progress in the adherence of Hong Kong to the Conventions of the I10 with more in the pipeline. The Secretary of State might congratulate the Governor on this and say that he hopes the annual review to be carried out by Lord Goronwy-Roberts will assist the process. Increasing conformity to ILO standards is important for Hong Kong's reputation in her principal markets, including the United Kingdom.
