The Foreign and Commonwealth Secretary is considering making ? visit to China and Japan next spring, possibly covering the period of the last week in April and the first 10 days in lay.

Hothing is yet confined and the whole project should be treated es confidential, but it would be helpful to know if you think it likely t' at an RAP VO10 could be unde available for Mr Callaghan for this rerior. If co, could you let ne know the

proximate cost; I would hope that by giving you long advance notice, it would be possible so to arrange the VC10 schedules that there would be no need for the RAF to churter replacement civil aircraft.
