The Sub-Committee have indicated a substantial interest in the civil sector in Hong Kong and the PCO are considering to what extent it may be appropriate for the Sub-Committee to investigate these matters. I hope we can both keep the pressure on the FCO to clarify this aspect reasonably soon, so that CBF can be given guidelines for the detailed planning for the visit.
