1. I attach a copy of the confidential typescript of the evidence given by FCO on Tuesday 9 December. We have been given the typescript at this stage in order to enable us to sideline any passages which we would wish deleted from the text before it appears in print at the Proof stage. We should, of course, support with reasons any requests we may make for deletions.

2.

Corrections of inaccuracies in printing or reporting can be made at the Proof stage.

3. We have been asked to return the typescript to the Committee Clerk as quickly as possible. I shall, therefore, be grateful if you will please return your copy to me by 17 December. We will incorporate any sidelining requests on to a Master copy, to return to the Clerk with a covering letter giving our reasons for requesting the deletions.
