The statement about Hong Kong growth rates is seriously mis- leading. The average figure given conceals the fact that in the last year or so growth has been severely checked (no growth in 1974 and none expected in 1975) because of the downturn in the world trade on which Hong Kong is so dependent. The revised statement on growth should bring this point out and could then go on to point out that when world trade recovers the colony can be expected to resume rapid growth.
