HONG KONG: CALL ON LORD GORONWY-ROBERTS BY URBAN COUNCIL DELEGATION

A delegation from the Hong Kong Urban Council, which is currently spending a week in London studying the work of the GLC will be calling on Lord Goronwy-Roberts on 23 April at 5.15 p.m It comprises:

Biographical notes and a note on the Urban Council's functions are attached, together with a copy of my previous submission on the arrangements to meet the delegation.

Mrs Elliott wrote to Lord Goronwy-Roberts on 1 April, asking to call on him in order to pursue her proposal that Hong Kong should have a referendum on elected representation. Mr MacKenzie also asked to call, indicating that his views on the subject do not accord with Mrs Elliott's. I attach a brief.

and many years been an outspoken critic of corruption in Hong Kong; she may pursue this topic if she gets an opportunity during the meeting.
