Das Murray,
URBAN DISTRICT COUNCIL DELEGATION
1.
19
You will have seen from our telegram no. 319 (and will shortly see from the record of the meeting) that when the Urban District Councillors called on Lord Goronwy-Roberts on 23 April, Mrs Elliott handed over a letter from a body calling itself the Movement for Representation in Government.
2.
Lord Goronwy-Roberts feels that the letter should be acknowledged and consequently instructed Tony Galsworthy to do so. I enclose this, together with a copy, which we feel should be sent through you. If, of course, you have any doubts about it, Lord Goronwy-Roberts would be very willing that there should be a change in the terms of the letter.
3.
I hope to send you a copy of the record of the meeting by this same bag: doubtless you will not be able to read either for a few days yet!
Yours ever,
Laurence
