(b) Consultative Committee, Ship Personnel Management
This is an ad hoc committee, chaired by the Superintendent, Seamen's Recruiting Office, supported by the Senior Marine Officer, SRO on the official side, and having ten other members drawn from the industry. The Employers Federation of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Shipowners Association and the Shipping Committee of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce are represented, also various shipping companies including World-Wide (Shipping) Ltd., Wah Kwong Shipping Agency Co Ltd., the Shell Co of HK Ltd., China Navigation Co Ltd., Wallem & Co Ltd., Jardine Matheson & Co Ltd. and Jebsen & Co.
The Committee deals with a variety of subjects and contributed usefully regarding recent amendments to the Ordinance, and the drawing-up of a Standard Format of a Service Agreement for seamen.
