I have passed the information contained in Hong Kong Creda 34 to Mr Peter Higgins, Virector of Overseas Operations at GEC. i have also discussed the telegram with Mr Stuart in the FCO. As a result, we will hold action until Lord Nelson is back in this country. Mr Stuart and I then think that there would be advantage in taking up the suggestion in para 11c of the Hong Kong telegram. I will get in touch with Mr Higgins early next week. Conceivably, Mr Stuart and I might together go and see Lord Nelson for a de-briefing meeting.
