The following matters be kept under constant review: drug addiction, family planning, rehabilitation, and the functioning

The Government's participation in the medical treatment of drug addiction will be pursued; family planning services will be progressively expanded; provision for rehabilitation will be expanded and the whole area of rehabilitation services will be covered in a programme plan on services to the disabled, arrangements for which are in hand. Consideration is being given to proposals for augmenting the staffing of the health services. A Health Education Unit will be established (paragraphs 8.5, 12.7, 12.16 and 12.18).

The Government has accepted the MDAC view that there is room for improvement in the statistical base in certain areas (in relation for example to the relative requirements for acute and non-acute beds) and in line with the MDAC recommendation, the Statistical Unit of the Medical and Health Department has been augmented (paragraph 7.2).
