have some positive and distinct contribution to make to the drug problems of the whole region, It could be suggested, by way of illustration, that the possibility of developing a role within the area of preventive education and/or treatment and rehabilitation might be considered (but such proposals would need to be developed in the light of the regional activities of WHO and UNESCO). If the Committee were inclined to accept such a solution, a meeting of these experts could be held auring the course or 1975 to report back to the next Consultative Committee meeting at the end of 1975, with a detailed, fully costed programme. Alternatively, but less desirably, the meeting of experts could take place as soon as possible after the CPCC meeting to devise a modified programme for 1975. In view or the direct and indirect United kingdom interest in this, the United Kingdom should seek to be represented at such a meeting of experts.
