ADMINISTRATIVE ARRANGEMENTS

In 1973, the Narcotics Bureau of the Royal Hong Kong Police underwent a complete re-organisation together with an increase in establishment. The establishment of the Bureau now comprises 1 Chief Superintendent, 3 Superintendents, 6 Chief Inspectors, 16 Senior Inspectors/Inspectors, 12 Sergeants, 109 Constables and 19 civilians who are employed in the following groups.

(i) Investigation Group with a Superintendent as Group Head. The group is broken down in the following three sections with Chief Inspectors as section heads :-

(a) Import/Manufacture.

(b) Storage/Distribution.

:) Export/Synthetic Drugs.

(ii) Intelligence Group with a Superintendent as Group

The group is broken down into the following two sections with Chief Inspectors as section heads.

(a) Intelligence.

(b) Surveillance.

(iii) Support Group with a Superintendent as Group Head.

The group is broken down into the following sections.

(a) Administration and Research.

(b) Civilian staff.
