Mr Woodrow

SECRETARY FOR MR J LAW, COUNSELLOR HONG KONG AFFAIRS AT THE BRITISH EMBASSY, BANGKOK

Please see the attached telegrams that have been exchanged between Hong Kong and Bangkok about the provision of secretarial assistance for Mr Law.

Mr Law, a senior police officer in Hong Kong, was posted to Bangkok to liaise with the Thai Government on narcotic matters.

2. Could you please let us know whether or not it will be possible to provide a suitable secretary. The Hong Kong Government will presumably be prepared to pay full costs of a UK based PA including fares. We ourselves have no objection to the posting but do not consider that it should be given priority over other postings.
