1.

P.O.D.)

SECRETARY FOR MR J LAW, COUNSELLOR HONG KONG AFFAIRS

AT THE BRITISH EMBASSY, BANGKOK.

2.

I understand from a telephone conversation with

Mr A L Wotton (HKIOD), that in some minutes which passed between Mr Tallboys (GGD) & yourself, you have agreed that Miss Logue will now be going to Bangkok on normal Diplomatic Service terms.

We certainly have no objections to this in PSD.

As an established S2 officer she is entitled to the following payments, all of which will have to be refunded by the Hong Kong Government:

Salary

£2,155

Local Allowance £735-00

Diplomatic Service Allowance £145

A Transfer Grant of £96-92

There will be a superannuation contribution: this figure should be supplied by Mr R Richards of

Superannuation Section. of PSD.

There is also the question of rent allowance & I suggest that this can best be supplied by the post.

Miss Logue is entitled to her return fare

& if she flies she may send 40 Kilograms of unaccompnied airfreight

Her heavy

baggage entitlement is for 1 ton of luggage. A Paid leave journey is earned after 18 months
