You will remember that I called to see you on 2 August concern- ing the 118 Vietnamese who were deported from Hong Kong, and gave you the substance of a cable we had received from Mr. Martin Ennals, Secretary General of Amnesty International.

We have now received a letter from the Amnesty International Branch in Germany, concerning Mrs. Cheng Po Dung alias Trinh Dung and her 5 year old daughter; I attach herewith a copy of the letter for your information.

I would be grateful if you would be good enough to draw the contents of this letter to the attention of the Foreign and Common- wealth Office.
