1.
We have not yet replied to your telegram no. 1483 of 20 December, in which you asked us to approach the appropriate authorities with a view to securing the services of a senior police officer experienced in the anti-corruption field for an advisory visit to Hong Kong.
2. This does not mean that we have not been active on your behalf. I wrote in December to the Under-Secretary concerned in the Police Department at the Home Office and am still waiting for his reactions. As soon as I hear from the Home Office, We will telegraph further.
