We have taken urgent instructions regarding your letter dated the 22nd October, 1974 and have obtained from Hong Kong copies of two letters written to

solicitors and dated the 7th May, 1974 and 29th August, 1974 respectively. We enclose copies of these letters.

Our instructions are (a) that no assurance of any sort regarding further proceedings was given before Mr. Hunt's disclosure to Mr. Prendergast of the incivent he witnessed in March 1971, (b) that neither at the time of such disclosure nor at any time subsequently was evidenco available to the Crown on which any further proceedings against Mr. Hunt might be based nor in the absence of any such evidence was the initiation of any such proceedings either contemplated or threatened by the Crown against Mr. Hunt or any member of his family.
