La Mr Ray Carter (Birmingham, Northfield): To ask
the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, how many former Government servants or public officials are being detained or are wanted in connection with corruption charges in Hong Kong; who they are; and how long each has been wanted.

18 former government servants are serving. prison
sentences for corruption ofrences: 4 Ex-Prison Utricers;
11 ex-Police; 1 Ex-Registration of Persons Department;
1 Ex-Housing Department; 1 Ex-Judiciary Clark.
4 Government servants are on trial for corruption
offences: 2 Police; 1 Marine Department Officer; 1 Prison
Officer.

15 Former government servants are wanted,
absconded or jumped pall: 12 Ex-Police; 1 Ex-Urban Services
Department; 2 Ex-Housing Department. 5 of these have been
sought since 1968, 3 since 1969, 3 since 1910, 1 since 19/1
2 since 1972 and 1 since 1975.
