1. You asked where we now stand on the Lui Sung case (see attached telegram).

We submitted on this on 14 February. Mr Blaker wrote to Mr James Johnson on 18 February enclosing a report on the case that we had received from Hong Kong.

3. We did not ask Hong Kong for any further information and it is not clear why Hong Kong have now sent this latest telegram. Presumably they thought that the allegation about Lui having to sell his son needed further explanation. As Mr Blaker has already written to Mr Johnson I do not see much point in passing on this additional information unless, of course, Mr Johnson writes again about this case.
