He tried several factories, all to no

avail, and eventually was stupid enough (through a friend's

introduction) to take a job as a waiter in a private gambling

establishment. During Your Petitioner's work in the said

gambling establishment, he came to know a lot of so-called

new friends, who were either working in the establishment or

were hanging around there. He talked, laughed and had meals

with them. One of them called "Wah Tsai" whose surname is

Leung, said that in this type of establishment Your Petitioner

must join a triad society and he eventually was so ill-

advised as to so join. Wah Tsai apparent was the "Tai Lo"

(i.e. Elder Brother) of the triad society. During

conversations with Wah Tsai, he mentioned the name of

"Ming Tsai" who had lent $400 to a man called Woo Ming

Sang, also he heard the name of Woo Chi Kin mentioned.-

Your Petitioner had, to his knowledge, never met Ming Tsai,

he does not even know his surname, and Your Petitioner

did not then know the deceased or his wife.

8. In about mid August 1973 Wah Tsai and Your Petitioner

went to the Queen's Ballroom in Portland Street. Wah Tsai

called a dancing girl by the name of Yuen Yee to the table

and introduced her to Your Petitioner. He mentioned this

name Woo Ming Sang and introduced her as his wife. At the

table, he heard Wah Tsai speaking of the $400 her husband

owed Ming Tsai and he heard the deceased's wife promised to

pay the money on a certain date. Your Petitioner does not

now remember the date that was mentioned, as repaying the

money was no concern of Your Petitioner. About four or

five days later in the evening, Your Petitioner went to
