Mr. Chan had tried to recommend him jobs, but the Prisoner declined on ground of low wages. Mr. Chan said that the Prisoner was also fond of gambling.
3. Mr. TANG Shek-chun, 23, Prisoner at the Stanley Prison,
for a lesser charge of Manslaughter in this case
He denied he personally knew the Prisoner whose name he might have heard before from a clansman some time before the offence.
The Prisoner, on the other hand, revealed that he had known this co-offender several days before the offence.
C. Neighbour
Mrs. Hung, who was also the principal tenant at the
Prisoner's last reported address at 10 Bailey Street, 4/F., Hung Hom
The Prisoner had rented a room alone at her flat and claimed that he was working on shift duty at restaurants. Thus, she had no idea whether or not he was leading a regular life. Besides he had only stayed there for about a month, for too short a time before his arrest, to warrant a comment.
The Prisoner, however, was observed to have frequently gone out at night supposedly for work and returned to sleep during the day.
D. Employers and work supervisors
1. Mr. CHENG Chun-ping, 28, operator of the Miami Plastic
Factory at Tai Po, and friend of the Prisoner's elder maternal uncle. He was now a public light bus cashier
According to him, the Prisoner had worked as odd job worker at $8.00 p.d. at the then plastic factory for about two months. He was punctual, good-tempered and able to get along well with the other workers while in work. He had left probably because of the low pay.
2. Madam CHEUNG See-ching, manager, and Mr. Poon Yun, foreman,
of the Wah Cheong Plastic Factory at Block D, Wah Hing Factory Building, 7/F., Tai Yau Street, San Po Kong, Kln.

According to the manager, the Prisoner had worked there from late August to early September 1972 as a day worker and from late September 1972 to January 1973 as a monthly-paid worker. had left on January 26, 1973 of his own accord without giving notice.
The foreman, Mr. Poon, revealed that the Prisoner took lodging at the factory at first, but after about a month he went out to sleep and it was learnt that he had gone to the Women's
