1. Mr. Tse Tung-sun, 39, elder maternal uncle of the Prisoner,
detective constable, R.H.K.P.F., $1,535 p.m., residing at Kwong Fuk Road, Tai Po Market, Tai Po, N.T.
Mr. Tse provided board and lodging for the Prisoner when he came. For two months he took rest and got himself adjusted. But he was soon found stealing his uncle's cigarettes to smoke, keeping long hair and changing to fancy clothings after his uncle had gone to work.
He was given a job at a plastic factory, but he soon complained about the bad effect of the plastic materials on his eyes and wanted to find a job with a higher pay in line with his friends.
His uncle wanted him to stop going along with his former friends because his uncle knew from experience as a member of the police force that these illegal migrants were likely to do more harm than good to him, but he ignored the advice.
His
After he left his uncle to work on his own, he seldom visited his uncle. He elected to stay free of his uncle's ties, and to live on his own. From telephone conversation his uncle noticed that he had not worked steadily since. He had neither written letter to his mother nor given her any remittances. uncle said that by personality the Prisoner was headstrong, stubborn and beyond control due probably to the disease of the brain that he had early suffered. He was belligerent, even fond of gambling before he came to Hong Kong. He was not all that stupid as a person, but was not easy to refrain from vices.
2. Mrs. TSE Tung-sun, wife of the above and aunt of the Prisoner
She confirmed what her husband had said and added that they had been fairly strict with the Prisoner to prevent him from going astray, but he mixed up with those that appeared undesirable. His friends said that he gambled recklessly while he was living outside.
3. Mr. TSE Tung-yuen, 35, younger maternal uncle of the Prisoner
This uncle was very displeased with the Prisoner's offence as charged. The offence was a disgrace to their family's
name.
