The prisoner claimed to have only 2 years of schooling at his native place. He ceased studies because of the Sino-Japanese War.
E. EMPLOYMENT
1. Doing odd jobs for his distant uncle at a food stall in Shek
Kip Mei for several months.
2. Serving delivery work for a clansman at a food stall in
Tsimshatsui for about 3 years.
3. Selling newspapers for a clansman in Mongkok for over a year. 4. Working at gambling stalls or drug divans for the recent several
years.
F. ASSOCIATES
The prisoner used to associate with his distant uncles, clansmen and people of his working places.
G. THE DECEASED PAK Kwong-woon, M/65 (According to the son of the
Deceased Mr. PAK Ka-kit, aged 37, driver, married with 2 children, of 1115, Block 7, Shek Yam Housing Estate, Tsuen Wan, N.T.)
Mr. Pak said his father, the Deceased, was a native of Hoi Ping and had lived in Hong Kong for 40 years. His father had worked as a watchman. Mr. Pak did not know the Prisoner. He said his father was known to the police and had 5 previous convictions related to drug offences. But he maintained his father was on good terms with all family members at home.
H. PERSONS CONTACTED (relevant to the prisoner's conduct and behaviour)
1. Mr. KWAN Ho, M/60 (the prisoner's distant uncle residing at
No. 81, Tai Po Road, 1/F., Kowloon)
Mr. KWAN said that the prisoner came from a well-off family with his father being formerly land owner at their native place. From his knowledge, the prisoner was not known to have unfriendly relation- ship with others, His deep-rooted addiction to narcotic drugs probably had made him passive in personality and rendered him unable to maintain regular employment. He could not by character get rid of his addiction or keep away from his undesirable friends. He occasionally visited Mr. KWAN for seeking petty loan of several dollars for buying drugs.
2. Mr. KWAN Hing (younger brother of Mr. KWAN Ho, residing at No. 83A,
Tai Po Road, 10/F., Kowloon)
Mr. KWAN said that he had little contact with the prisoner and that his elder brother, Mr. KWAN Ho, was in a better position to tell about the prisoner.
