I was on the 1st day of November, 1973, convicted in the

Supreme Court of Hong Kong, upon the verdict of a jury of six of the offence of murdering CHEUNG Shui-fa, my wife,
and was for that offence sentenced to suffer death in the
manner authorised by law.
That on the 27th day of December 1973 the appeal to the Full Court of your humble petitioner was dismissed and 1 am now a condemned prisoner awaiting execution for the offence of murder. That your humble petitioner is seeking mercy from Your Excellency The Governor to save me from this punishment.
I am aped 42 years and the deceased victim was my wife.
I have 4 children whose ages are respectively 16, 14, 12 and
10 years.
I have no previous convictions for any offences and this is the first occasion on which I have been before the Courts charged with
any offence.
This tragedy arose from a domestic quarrel between my deceased wife and myself at a time when we had agreed on a separation which was due to take offect. 1 was arranging removal of my possessions
from the matrimonial home when an argument developed relating to certain ancestral tablets. My wife and I had previously received advice about a separation from the Social Welfare Department and City District Office because of our irreconciliable differences.
I had also contacted the Felice after previous quarrels.
I became provoked during the argument about the ancestral tablets and lost all control of myself. I had not intended killing my wife previously and my mind was very confused during this struggle.
